Belarus’ embassy in Armenia held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss ways for combating human trafficking and means for helping victims.

YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. Belarus’ embassy in Armenia held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss ways for combating human trafficking and means for helping victims.
Ambassadors from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan along with representatives of Russian and Indian embassies attended the event. Armenian police officers, representatives of international and nongovernmental organizations and journalists were present here as well.
“Despite the progress reached in human development, this problem lingers and even become global,” said Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia Stepan Sukharenko.
In December 2013, UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 68/192 proposed by Belarus to intensify struggle against human trafficking. In accordance with the resolution, July 30 will be marked as the day of struggle against human trafficking. -0----
