Birth rate in Armenia decreased by 9.1% in 2 months

YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. In January-February 2025, Armenia's birth rate decreased by 9.1% compared to the same period in 2024. This is according to data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.
It is noted that 4,928 babies were born during the reporting period, whereas in the first two months of 2024, there were 5,422 newborns.
At the same time, 57 cases of stillbirths were recorded during this period, which is 18.6% fewer than in the same period in 2024.
In total, 4,919 people died in the country in January-February 2025, which is 3.1% more than the figure for the same period in 2024.
It is also noted that the viability rate—the ratio of births to deaths—was 100%, compared to 113.6% for the same period last year.
