Career fair for refugees from Artsakh to be held on 21 November in Yerevan
YEREVAN, 18 November. /ARKA/. A career fair as part of the Armenian General Benevolent Union's (AGBU) ‘Train and Earn, Artsakh!’ programme will be held on November 21 in Yerevan.
‘The fair will be open to all job seekers, but its main goal is to create opportunities for our compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to get acquainted with Armenia's labour market, to see its structure and main employers, to find out which areas are most in demand,’ programme manager Haykuhi Gevorgyan said at a press conference on Monday.
She noted that the program covers 1,000 beneficiaries, adding that it is actually very difficult for Artsakh people after forced displacement to visualize Armenia's labour market and find their place.
‘More than 40 employers will be presented at the fair, vacancies from various fields will be opened, both for qualified professionals and for future specialists who have no work experience,’ Gevorgyan noted.
She informed that relevant courses, seminars, motivational talks will be held within the framework of the fair. ‘In a word, we are trying to create a platform to provide a direct link between employers and job seekers. Different areas will be represented at the fair - finance, service, telecommunication and others," Gevorgyan said.
She also stated that the implementation of the programme started back in Artsakh in order to help Artsakh residents to be more competitive,.
‘After the forced displacement, the programme continued in Armenia from February 2024, which is financed by the Swiss charitable foundation HEX,’ Gevorgyan noted."-0-
