China ready to provide Armenia with ventilation devices and medical clothing

China’s ambassador to Armenia Tiang Erlung told Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts through a video chat that his government is ready to provide Armenia with mechanical ventilation devices and medical clothing worth $110 thousand, the press service of the Armenian government said.

China’s ambassador to Armenia Tiang Erlung told Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts through a video chat that his government is ready to provide Armenia with mechanical ventilation devices and medical clothing worth $110 thousand, the press service of the Armenian government said.
It said the two men discussed also a number of issues on cooperation in the fight against coronavirus, and exchanged information on steps taken by their governments in this direction.
Adonts thanked Erlung for the free provision of 1008 test kits for the determination of coronavirus through the Embassy of China, which will soon be delivered to the country.
The parties exchanged thoughts on extending the suspension of the visa-free entry of Chinese citizens to Armenia, currently valid until March 31, and agreed to maintain close contact on this issues.
Adonts and Erlung also discussed issues related to the supply of medical clothing, masks and mechanical ventilation devices. Adonts asked the Chinese side to continue the support provided in this direction.
Erlung noted the willingness of the Chinese side to continue close cooperation with Armenia in solving various problems associated with the struggle against a new type of coronavirus, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity at the international level.
On March 16 the government of Armenia delcared a 30-day state of emergency in a bid to stop the spread of the infection.
In Armenia, as of, March 23, 194 cases of coronavirus were confirmed.
Among those infected are Armenian citizens from Iran and Italy (residents of Yerevan, Echmiadzin, Meghri and Charentsavan), people who had contacted with them, as well as one Italian citizen and a visitor from France. Two patients who recovered from the coronavirus were discharged from the hospital. -0-
