Court invalidates parking price increase in Yerevan: City Hall to appeal the decision

YEREVAN, 19 December. /ARKA/. Yerevan Administrative Court has invalidated the decision of the Municipality to raise parking prices in the capital from 1 January this year. The decision was approved by the Council of Elders, Yerevan's legislative assembly.

This was reported by Yerevan Mayor's spokesman Hayk Kostanyan in his Facebook post.

Firstly, the court decision has not entered into legal force and will be appealed by the municipality within the established one-month period. Secondly, the previously paid amounts are not subject to refund, even if the court decision enters into legal force,’ he wrote.

From 1 January 2024, new parking prices were set in Yerevan, which were calculated depending on the zones of the city. In zone ‘A’ (covers the city centre) parking prices are set at: AMD 300 per hour, AMD 2,000 per day, AMD 5,000 per week, AMD 18,000 per month and AMD 160,000 per year.

In zone ‘B’ the parking prices are set at the rate of 200 drams per hour, 1,000 drams per day, 2,000 drams per week, 4,000 drams per month and 24,000 drams per year. -0-
