The Armenian government decided at a meeting on Thursday to appoint David Arushanyan to the vacant position of governor of the Shirak region.
YEREVAN, December 19. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided at a meeting on Thursday to appoint David Arushanyan to the vacant position of governor of the Shirak region. Previously, he was a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the ruling “Civil Contract” faction.
During the meeting, the issue of holding the first-ever primaries in Armenia in Gyumri from December 8-10 was raised, following which Sarik Minasyan became the acting mayor of Gyumri (until the next elections).
As Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted, the primaries held in Gyumri represent a step toward democracy.
