EIB to help improve school seismic resistance in Armenia

The European Investment Bank (EIB) intends to join a World Bank and the Asian Development Bank program designed to improve the seismic resistance of schools in Armenia, the education and science ministry reported following a meting between minister Armen Ashotyan and an EIB delegation in Yerevan.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) intends to join a World Bank and the Asian Development Bank program designed to improve the seismic resistance of schools in Armenia, the education and science ministry reported following a meting between minister Armen Ashotyan and an EIB delegation in Yerevan.
The program provides for major repairs of operating and construction of new schools in Armenia.
Ashotyan was said to have welcomed the bank’s initiative and also spoke about the priorities of the government and the main development trends.
Ashotyan also pointed out other possible ways of cooperation in the field of education, in particular, training of teachers and development of capacities of student dormitories. -0-
