Energy efficiency lab opens at Yerevan architecture and construction university

An energy efficiency laboratory opened on Tuesday at the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, the press service of the Ministry of Nature Protection told ARKA.
YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. An energy efficiency laboratory opened on Tuesday at the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, the press service of the Ministry of Nature Protection told ARKA.
It said the opening of the laboratory is part of the UNDP’s program on improving the energy efficiency of buildings, implemented by the University in concert with the ministries of nature protection and urban planning.
Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan said the opening of the laboratory will assist future scientists in achieving new heights.
"This laboratory will create the foundations that will contribute to further strengthening of energy efficiency,” the minister said.
To set up the laboratory the University received 12 items of equipment and instruments worth 10 million drams.
This equipment, used for the first time in Armenia, will enable to evaluate a number of meteorological and thermo-physical parameters regarding the energy performance of buildings, and, after computer processing, to obtain graphically analyzed results.
The ministry said the laboratory will be available to students of other universities as well majoring in related specialties.-0-
