The Armenian government has approved today a rise in the salary of firefighters and rescuers.

YEREVAN, September 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a rise in the salary of firefighters and rescuers. Emergency Situations Minister Felix Tsolakyan said only firefighters working at the Armenian nuclear power plant are entitled to extra pay now.
"Rescuers and middle-level firefighters receive 90 thousand drams a month (less than $200), while they endanger their lives by working in difficult physical and moral conditions," Tsolakyan said.
According to him, as a result of the rise, the salary of ordinary employees will increase from October 1 and will make 130,000 drams.
For these purposes, 475.8 million drams will be allocated from the state budget in 2019. In 2020 the amount is to be raised to 1 billion 903 million drams. The upcoming rise had been first announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. ($ 1 - 476.06 drams). --0--
