Former Armenian MP shot and killed in restaurant quarrel

A former member of the Armenian parliament Karo Karapetyan was shot and killed by another former lawmaker Harutyun Karagezyan on October 6, at about 10:40 pm during a quarrel in a Yerevan restaurant, Armenian law-enforcement agencies reported.

YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. A former member of the Armenian parliament Karo Karapetyan was shot and killed by another former lawmaker Harutyun Karagezyan on October 6, at about 10:40 pm during a quarrel in a Yerevan restaurant, Armenian law-enforcement agencies reported. 

According to investigators, the wounds received by Karapetyan were incompatible with life. He was said to have died after rushed to the Erebuni medical center. A man, identified as S. Avakyan, who accompanied Karapetyan, was shot and wounded. He was hospitalized. 

On Sunday Armenian police received a call that a body of a man with a gunshot wound was found in the village of Zovuni near Yerevan. Police that went to the scene found out it was Harutyun Karagezyan. His body was found with a gunshot wound to the head. A gun was also found on the scene of the incident. 

Edgar Janoyan, a spokesman for the Armenian Police, said on his Facebook page that the gun was in Karagezyan’s right hand. He said Karagezyan is believed to have committed suicide. Two criminal cases have  been initiated into the murders. -0-
