YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of Education Zhanna Andreasyan and French Ambassador to Armenia Anne Louyot signed an agreement and a cooperation memorandum to deepen French language learning by Armenian school students.

"We are currently implementing a series of reforms in secondary education, and improving foreign language learning skills is one of the key areas," Andreasian said.

She thanked the French government for its continued support for educational programs in Armenia and expressed hope that it will not only help school students strengthen their knowledge of French, but also lead to further deepening of relations between the two countries.

"The goal is to give Armenian teachers and students an opportunity to establish regular contact with native French speakers and thereby increase their knowledge of the language," the minister said.

Ambassador Louyot, in turn, expressed willingness to support initiatives aimed at deepening the instruction of French in Armenian state educational institutions. --0--
