Gazprom Armenia CEO denies allegations of super-high salaries
YEREVAN, June 19. /ARKA/. Hrant Tadevosyan, CEO of Armenia's national Russian-owned natural gas distributing company Gazprom Armenia, denied today allegations that he and some other top executives of the company are paid super-high salaries.

Tadevosyan was speaking at a meeting of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) that left today natural gas prices unchanged for household, raising them slightly for some enterprises.

According to Tadevosyan, 99.9% of the 7,000 staff  receive significantly lower than 2 million drams salaries, the remaining 0.1%, including him and another 10 people, receive higher salaries, but not too much of  2 million drams.

He also noted that comparing the salaries of employees of Gazprom Armenia and other utilities in the energy sector, for example, of the  nuclear or thermal power plants is inappropriate, since the volumes of work are not comparable.

He reminded that according to the decision of the PSRC, the company will have to cut staff from 6,954 people to 5,383 to reduce costs. He said the staff should be cut further to 5,000 people by 2024.

He said this year the company will have to cut 1000 jobs.  “Given the current problem, I personally asked Gazprom leadership to cut my and another ten top executives' salaries. -0-
