Government approves Academic Campus concept

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a new concept of the Academic Campus.
According to Education, Science, Culture and Sports Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, two land plots are allocated for the creation of the campus: one is adjacent to the 14th quarter of the capital's Achapnyak district and the other is near the Armenfilm film studio.
The campus will be designed to accommodate 16 universities - 8 public and 8 private or international.
The minister noted that a railroad will be built for the communication with Yerevan. Within the campus the students and the faculty will move by bicycles and electric transport.
According to some estimates, the campus will accommodate 44 thousand people. New infrastructures, including concert halls and a stadium with a capacity of 35 thousand people will be built.
Construction of the campus is scheduled to start in October 2025 and according to the plan, to l be completed in 2029. -0--
