Government approves sale of NSS building

The Armenian government approved today the privatization of a building owned by the National Security Service, located  at 5/1, Paruyr Sevak Street in the capital Yerevan.

YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved today the privatization of a building owned by the National Security Service, located  at 5/1, Paruyr Sevak Street in the capital Yerevan.

According to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan, the building's total space is 6,832 sq. meters. It has also a land area of 0.8 hectares.

He said the minimum value of the property to be alienated through auction is 2.6 billion drams. The buyer will also be required to pay the cadastral value of the land plot - 56.3 million drams.

He said the assessment of the bids will be carried out according to the following factors: 70% is the price offered for the alienated property and 30% is the volume of investments to be made no later than in three years.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted that this building was initially considered as an opportunity to solve the housing problems of the National Security Service's employees.

"Unfortunately, the state of the building was not such as to solve this problem,' he said, adding that part of the proceeds from the sale of the building will be used to solve this problem. ($1 - 485.74 dram). -0-
