Government begins auctioning of decommissioned cars

The Armenian government has begun auctioning some of 1,082 cars that were used by government officials and which were decommissioned as part of a major cost-cutting drive, announced in mid-May by prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the head of the State Property Management Department Arman Sahakyan said at a Cabinet session today.
YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has begun auctioning some of 1,082 cars that were used by government officials and which were decommissioned as part of a major cost-cutting drive, announced in mid-May by prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the head of the State Property Management Department Arman Sahakyan said at a Cabinet session today.
The prime minister had also pledged to streamline the government’s expenditures, step up the fight against corruption and improve the domestic business environment in response to “new challenges” emanating from the unresolved Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Prime minister Abrahamyan gave today ten days to all the state agencies which have not yet completed the transfer of the decommissioned cars to the State Property Management Department, to complete the procedure.-0-
