Defense Minister David Tonoyan said the size of allowance for military personnel who were on combat duty 'during the period of direct contact with the enemy', is set in double size.
Under the government's decision, it will increase up to 7,300 drams for sergeants, and up 6.300 drams for the rest.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the amount is very symbolic.
“The decision is symbolic, but compared to the basic rate, we have significantly increased the amount, and in some cases even more than doubled. This is a very symbolic change, the amounts are still small, but I hope that in the future, as a result of joint work, we will be able to set a basic rate that will satisfy all of us, "Pashinyan said.
