Government to provide subventions to 35 community programs

The government will provide subventions to finance 35 community development programs, estimated to cost more than 1.2 billion drams, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development said on Thursday.
YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. The government will provide subventions to finance 35 community development programs, estimated to cost more than 1.2 billion drams, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development said on Thursday.
Earlier the first deputy premier Ararat Mirzoyan chaired a regular meeting of the inter-agency commission which convenes to approve subvention applications; the commission had received 45 programs from 30 communities aimed at developing economic and social infrastructures.
More precisely, , the programs are aimed at asphalting and improvement of community streets, energy saving, street lighting, construction and repair of irrigation systems and drinking water supply, as well as construction and repair of kindergartens, cultural and community centers.
After consideration of all applications, the commission approved 35 programs worth a total of 1.237 billion drams. Communities on their part will provide co--financing to the tune of 619.2 million drams, the government’s share is 509.1 million drams, and another 109.1 million drams will come from the private sector.
During the discussions, five programs were sent for revision, after which they will be presented at the next meeting. ($ 1 - 482.87 drams). --0--
