YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. Head of Committee to Protect Freedom of Speech does not see any trends towards improving information field in Armenia in the near future.

“I do not see the desire of the authorities in this matter,” Melikyan noted at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to him, the Prime Minister declares publicly his intention to continue speaking in his characteristic style. Naturally, the overwhelming majority of the ruling Civil Contract party takes the Prime Minister’s style as an example. The opposition, which is not lagging behind the authorities in this regard, will continue in the same form.

“The media is very happy to mirror all this on their platforms. Moreover, there are journalists who complement all this from their side. They think that this is what will bring “likes,” views, and, ultimately, money,” Melikyan said.

According to him, if we take into account that these trends prevail, and in 2026 there will be parliamentary elections, during which there will be a tense struggle, then we should not expect anything good or any kind of recovery.-0-
