YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. A high risk of wildfire activity is projected to remain in the country’s valleys and foothill areas throughout this week, Armenia’s National Weather Service said today.

It said short showers and thunderstorms are possible on July 24-29 in some parts. The western winds’ speed will be 2-5 meters/second. The wind speed may increase to 15-20 meters/second in the evening hours in Armavir, as well as in the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn provinces.

The temperatures will rise gradually by 5-8 degrees on July 26-29. No rains are expected in Yerevan, but it will be windy in the evening hours.

The temperature in the capital will rise to 29-31 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon. By Friday it will grow to 34-36 degrees.

The temperature rise is also expected in the regions. The hottest daytime temperature this week- 36-38 degrees- will be on Friday in Ararat region and on the foothills of Vayots Dzor.-0-
