Home prices in Armenia are on the rise

A total of 162,459 real estate transactions were registered in Armenia in 2018, by 13.3% more than in 2017, the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre reported.
YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. A total of 162,459 real estate transactions were registered in Armenia in 2018, by 13.3% more than in 2017, the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre reported. It said the capital city Yerevan accounted for 36% of the transactions. The least transactions were registered in the province of Vayots Dzor- 1.9%.
The province of Kotayk accounted for 12.7% of all transactions, Ararat - for 8.6%, Lori - for 8.0%, Armavir - for 7.8%, Gegharkunik - for 6.5%, Aragatsotn - for 5.5%, Shirak -for 4.8%, and Syunik and Tavush - for 4.1% each.
Some 38.7% of the transactions were sale and purchase of housing, 14.7% were initial registration of real estate. Another 16% were inheritance registration transaction, 16.6% were secured transactions, 6.1% were real estate rental transactions and 7.9% were state registration.
The average market value of one square meter of living space in apartment buildings in Yerevan increased by 7.2% in 2018. The highest price in Yerevan was in the administrative district Kentron – 529,200 drams per square meter, the lowest - in the Nubarashen district – 165,400 drams.
The average cost per square meter of living space in apartment buildings outside Yerevan increased by 26.6%.
The highest prices per square meter of housing were recorded in Tsaghkadzor (285,000 drams), the lowest - in Dastakert, Syunik province, (19,300 drams). ($ 1 - 488.26 drams). -0-
