In 2026, individuals aged 65 and older will be incorporated into Armenia's health insurance system

YEREVAN, October 15. /ARКА/. In the initial phase of the health insurance implementation in Armenia set for 2026, individuals aged 65 and above will be integrated into the system, with their insurance premiums being funded by the state, as announced by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan.
She specified the required conditions:
•Armenian citizenship
• Residency in Armenia for over 183 days (residency)
Individuals aged 65 and older will be eligible for insurance regardless of the following factors:
A) the presence or absence of a disability or the level of disability in the functional assessment system
B) employment status or income
C) chronic health conditions
D) membership in a vulnerable group
Avanesyan previously indicated that 1.6 million residents of Armenia will be included in the first phase of the three-year transition to a universal health insurance system (2026-2028).-0-
