YEREVAN, September 24. /ARKA/. Artsrun Galstyan, who sustained injuries during a shooting incident yesterday in the Armavir region of Armenia, has successfully undergone surgery and is now out of danger, according to Narek Sargsyan, the press secretary for the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Preliminary reports indicate that a masked and gloved individual approached three individuals and opened fire, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. The injured individual is not a police officer," he informed reporters on Wednesday.

At 11:50 PM on September 23, authorities received a report regarding gunfire in the village of Merdzavan, located in the Armavir region. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that Volodya Grigoryan, the head of the Parakar community, and Karen Abrahamyan, an off-duty officer from the Ararat criminal police, were killed. One individual is currently hospitalized.

Sargsyan stated that extensive investigative measures are currently being conducted under the supervision of the Minister of Internal Affairs.

"Specifically, surveillance cameras have been confiscated, and entry and exit points into and out of the country are being examined, while several vehicles have been relocated to a secure area," Sargsyan added.

Grigoryan was elected as the head of the Parakar community representing the opposition Unity bloc during the local elections held on March 30, 2025.-0-
