New escalators to be installed at two Yerevan metro stations with 308 million in state funding
YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. New escalators are being installed at the ‘’Gortsaranain’’ and ‘’David Sasuntsi’’ stations of the Yerevan metro, according to the Armenian government.
The escalators at ‘’Gortsaranain’’ station, which have been in operation for 41 years, are now outdated. The replacement work will be completed by the end of this year, while at ‘’David Sasuntci’’ station, it will be finished by the beginning of next year. The total state funding amounts to 308 million drams
“Since 2022, more than 6.3 billion drams have been allocated for the development of the metro infrastructure,” said Acting General Director of the Yerevan Metro, Babken Sedrakyan, explaining that the work carried out includes the construction of a drainage tunnel.
The Yerevan Metro, named after Karen Demirchyan, was founded in 1981. Currently, there are 10 metro stations in Yerevan, with a total metro line length of 13.4 km. ($1 = 388.97 drams) -0-
