New "Blood Bank" to Open in Armenia
YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. A new "Blood Bank" equipped with state-of-the-art equipment will open in Armenia soon, announced Anahit Avanesyan, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
Speaking in parliament, she noted that 1,000 donors gave blood in 2023, and this year the goal is to increase that number to 2,000.
Avanesyan expressed regret that the culture of blood donation is not sufficiently developed in Armenia.
"Unfortunately, we have only been able to mobilize quickly in critical situations, which often leads to long lines for blood donation. However, it shouldn't take an emergency for people to start donating blood. This should be an ongoing process. Moreover, donating blood twice a year also helps improve health," Avanesyan noted. -0-
