In 2022, the number of suicide incitement cases or suicide attempts surged in Armenia by 175 or 60.3%, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan said today.

YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. In 2022, the number of suicide incitement cases or suicide attempts surged in Armenia by 175 or 60.3%, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan said today.
"This figure tends to get worse. The number of such cases had also grown by 36 or 44% in 2021," she said at a parliamentary session Wednesday.
Vardapetyan noted that 188 suicides cases were reported to law-enforcement bodies last year, down from 191 in 2021.
She said 69 percent of those people who committed suicide were unemployed and retired. --0—
