This year, the number of the students passing Russian unified state exam shrank by 30, compared to 2012.

Armen Ashotyan, Education and Science Minister of Armenia, was monitoring the exam process.

He has noted it is much easier to pass exams today as the collections of tests have been distributed to the students earlier, and they had time to study.
As to the interest in learning Russian language, the minister said it was growing.

On her side, Luiza Matevosyan, coordinator of Exam Center at Yerevan State University, has said Armenia will always attach great importance to Russian language, and there will be more and more people speaking it.

Also, she informed the exam classrooms were equipped with the appropriate equipment, such as cameras, monitor screens, etc.

Some 15,000 out of 30,000  high school graduates will be applying to the universities in Armenia this year.
