Paid parking areas in Yerevan to be differentiated

YEREVAN, September 6. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly’s Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Governments, Agriculture, and Environmental Protection on Wednesday approved a draft law, which proposes to change the color of paid parking areas, as well as to revise the size of the payment.
"According to the draft law, the current parking areas in Yerevan (marked with red strips) are to be differentiated according to their purpose. There will be one color of road markings for disabled drivers, another color for service vehicles, and a third color for ordinary citizens," Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, said during the discussion of the draft law.
At the same time, the location of a particular parking area will affect pricing. Thus, parking in the city center will be more expensive, and cheaper in the suburbs. -0-
