YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. The committee of Armenian parliament on state and legal affairs approved today a government decision to raise prosecutors' salaries.

"The salaries will be increased by more than 90%. Prosecutors' workloads have increased substantially, seriously affecting the attractiveness of this profession. Young people after working at prosecutor's office for 3-4 years, as a rule, choose to work as lawyers with much less work and more money," said Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Badalyan.

According to him, there are 430 prosecutors currently in Armenia. The salary rise will require 2 billion 443 million drams additionally.

At present the average salary of junior and mid-level prosecutors is about 400-460 thousand drams before taxes (net salary is about 295-350 thousand drams). ($1 - 389.06 drams). --

Deadline for legalizing unauthorized constructions in Armenia extended until the end of 2026
