YEREVAN, June 3. /ARKA/. By a vote of 111 to no abstentions and against Armenia’s National Assembly has adopted today in the first reading a package of draft laws on cooperation between the government and the private sector.
According to Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan, when approved the laws will help build a regulated relationship between the government and the private sector and increase their accountability to parliament and the public.
He said the ultimate goal is to create infrastructures in Armenia that meet international standards. ‘We are confident that with the involvement of the private sector and high technology, our infrastructures can become more efficient," he said.
According to him, the quality of modernization, use and preservation of public infrastructures should be improved, which is to be facilitated by cooperation with the private sector.
“We are creating an opportunity for private finances to participate in those infrastructures whose importance is assessed by the public as very important,” the minister said. -0-
