Prince Charles alley of plane trees to be planted in Armenian Dilijan

An alley of plane trees named after HRH  the Prince of Wales will be planted in Dilijan. A certificate commemorating the opening of the Prince Charles Alley was awarded to His Royal Highness by the founders of Dilijan International School, Veronika Zonabend and Ruben Vardanyan.

YEREVAN, May 29. / ARKA /. An alley of plane trees named after HRH  the Prince of Wales will be planted in Dilijan. A certificate commemorating the opening of the Prince Charles Alley was awarded to His Royal Highness by the founders of Dilijan International School, Veronika Zonabend and Ruben Vardanyan.

The certificate was awarded during Prince Charles's private visit to Armenia as a guest of Armen Sarkisian's charity initiative "Yerevan, My Love!" at an event held at the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. After getting acquainted with the Institute's collection, Prince Charles was given a presentation about Dilijan International School (DIS), which will be opening its doors in September 2014. 65 plane trees will be planted in Dilijan. A plane tree is a symbol of Dilijan International School.

The Dilijan International School is a private charity project. The cost of the construction $100 million was donated by Russian Armenian businessman Ruben Vardanyan. The school is for talented children from Armenia and the Diaspora, as well as foreign students.  The graduates will be awarded bachelor’s degree. -0-
