Project of future metro station “Ajapnyak” in Yerevan to undergo comprehensive examination
YEREVAN, December 23. /ARKA/. The design package for the construction of the 11th station of the Yerevan metro, "Ajapnyak," has been fully approved and will be submitted for a comprehensive examination in the next stage, said Anetta Babayan, adviser to the mayor of the capital.
"A meeting of the special group on the construction of the Ajapnyak station was held on December 19. The results of the examination of the design and estimate documentation were discussed," Babayan said at a working meeting of the city hall on Monday.
She noted that the necessary decisions had been made, and the fully approved package will be sent for comprehensive examination this week after certain technical adjustments.
About the Ajapnyak Metro Station
It was previously reported that the total cost of constructing the Ajapnyak metro station is tentatively estimated at around $50 million. The Armenian government was to allocate 750 million drams for the design work, while the city hall was to provide an additional 554 million drams. Last year, the Russian company "Metrogiprotrans" was selected as the winner of the tender for the station’s design.
The draft state budget for 2025 already includes approximately 9.6 billion drams (about $24.6 million) for the construction of the Ajapnyak station. The issue of cooperation with the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development, as well as other donors, is under consideration.
