YEREVAN, December 5. /ARKA/. The National Assembly of Armenia approved today in the first reading several amendments to the Law On Local Self-Government, according to which draft regulatory acts of Armenian communities are to be placed on the e-draft.am portal.
Parliament Vice-Speaker Lena Nazaryan said the proposed changes are aimed at expanding the capabilities of local authorities.
“Technically, this will happen as follows: local governments will place their draft decisions on their official pages, and they will automatically appear on the e-draft platform,” she said.
Nazaryan said the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures proposed that the changes be extended to the communities with 20 thousand or more population, since communities with less population do not have the technical capabilities to do that. However, according to her, only 12 cities in the country meet this criterion.
She said the changes set that this restriction is to be valid only until 2022. 'This means that in two years, the regulatory acts of all communities will be published on the e-draft site," said the vice speaker.
The changes also propose to expand the types of information available on the official websites of local authorities, in particular, information about the services provided by the community, construction projects and so on.
In addition, meetings of the Councils of Community Elders should be broadcast online. -0-
