YEREVAN, July 29. / ARKA /. The major repair of the downtown North Avenue will be over in late August, according to deputy mayor of the Armenian capital city Yerevan David Ohanyan.

Speaking to reporters he said the repair was delayed due to rains at the beginning of the summer.

According to him, after the repair is over the Northern Avenue will become even more beautiful, greener and a pleasant place for strolling.

"Of course, many people complain that the repair is being done during the tourist season, but we could not start the work earlier or later due to weather conditions. The avenue will have more green spaces, benches and illumination," he said.

He added that the cost of the repair is about $5 million. -0-
