Snow and freezing temperatures expected in Armenia this and next week
YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Armenia’s National Weather Service said snow is expected on January 14 afternoon and January 15 evening in some parts of the country. No daytime precipitation is expected on January 15, 16 as well as on January 17-18. The northwest wind will be blowing with gusts up to 2-5 m/s.
The air temperature on January 14-17 will gradually decrease by 10-12 degrees. The roads will be icy and drivers should be vigilant.
Snow is expected in the capital Yerevan on Saturday overnight and morning. The daytime temperature in Yerevan on Friday afternoon will range from 0 to 2 degrees Celsius, and will drop to 1-3 degrees below zero over the next four days. The night temperatures will drop to 7-11 degrees below zero.
The coldest weather will be on Monday night in Shirak, Kotayk mountains, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor provinces where the temperatures will fall to 20-25 degrees below zero. The temperatures in Gegharkunik, Lori and Syunik provinces will drop to 20-24 degrees below zero. -0-
