Snowstorm closes Selim pass and some roads in Armenia

Selim pass, a road of national importance to Armenia, is closed for vehicles due to heavy snowdrift and poor visibility, the country’s ministry of transport and communication reported.

YEREVAN, December 25. /ARKA/. Selim pass, a road of national importance to Armenia, is closed for vehicles due to heavy snowdrift and poor visibility, the country’s ministry of transport and communication reported.
Selim pass is located 2.41 kilometers over the sea and connects Martuni region with Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. It is considered to be the heaviest motor road in the country in winter time.
Due to unceasing snowstorm, Yeghvard-Aragiugh-Buzhakan-Artavan highway is also closed for traffic. Snow keeps falling in Vayk, Jermuk, Goris, Kapan, Meghri, Berdzor.
Roads are being cleared to ensure traffic safety. –0--
