The Yerevan Municipality has acquired 930 new garbage containers of European production to install in the capital.

YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality has acquired 930 new garbage containers of European production to install in the capital.

The head of Greening and Environmental Protection municipal company Armen Begoyan said two Volvo multifunctional vehicles have also been purchased and brought, which are intended for transportation and unloading of the containers.

Begoyan added that the municipality plans to increase the number of containers designed for aluminum collection and will purchase the necessary equipment.

The Yerevan Municipality received a grant of 1 million euros from the European Union for the implementation of this program.

Begoyan noted that a pilot program on waste recycling has been operating for three years already. Within its framework, containers for separate waste collection (for paper and cardboard, for glass containers and for plastic) were installed in 130 locations of the capital.-0...
