Some roads in Armenia are impassable for traffic

Armenia's ministry of territorial administration and emergency situations has called on motorist today to refrain from using a roadway running from Sotk to Karvachar in Nagorno-Karabakh and also inter-community roads in the district of Amasia in the northwestern province of Shirak.

Armenia's ministry of territorial administration and emergency situations has called on motorist today to refrain from using a roadway running from Sotk to Karvachar in Nagorno-Karabakh and also inter-community roads in the district of Amasia in the northwestern province of Shirak.
It said also the Vardenyats mountain pass is closed for all types of traffic.
According to the ministry, the section of the road from Areni to Khachik in Vayots Dzor province is also closed for traffic due to blasting operations. It recommended that motorists use a bypass road Noravank-Amaghu - Khachik.
Sections of Yerevan-Sevan highway (near Teahouse roadside café), Yeghegnadzor-Yelpin, Vayk- Zanger, Zanger-Sisian, Goris-Sisian are icy. The rest of the roads are mainly passable, the ministry said.
According to the Georgian emergency situations department, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all modes of transport that use chains. The road is closed only for trucks with trailers. -0-
