SRC stops illegal sale of cigarettes in Armenia (VIDEO)

YEREVAN, January 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) said its employees have foiled an attempt to illegally sell cigarettes without excise stamps.

According to it, during an inspection of one of the companies engaged in tobacco production in Armenia, it was revealed that it declared 13 tons of tobacco products intended for export to Georgia, which is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Some time later, the company requested the SRC to cancel the customs declaration submitted for export. After the declaration was canceled, the company removed the goods from the customs control zone, but instead of transporting them to its warehouse, it transported them to another private territory for illegal sale without excise stamps.

The movement of the truckloads of tobacco products was monitored by the SRC. As a result, the damage caused to the state was calculated. The case was transferred to the Investigative Committee, a criminal case was opened, and the investigation is underway. -0-
