Prices of stationery goods have not risen ahead of a new schooling year in Armenia, according to Armen Poghosyan, head of the Association of Consumers.
YEREVAN, 16 August. /ARKA. Prices of stationery goods have not risen ahead of a new schooling year in Armenia, according to Armen Poghosyan, head of the Association of Consumers.
"However, prices of other items which schoolchildren need- for example, bags, clothing, sports equipment - have risen by 5% already’ and by 13% if we compare current prices with those in 2013,’ Pogosyan told a news conference today.
"According to our research, an average family will have to spend 50,000 drams ( over $100) on school items. Wealthy families, constituting 10-12% of the population, spend 200 thousand drams, " said Poghosyan. -0-
