Suspected murderer turns himself in to police
YEREVAN, April 20. /ARKA /. A man suspected of killing a passenger in a minibus a few days ago in central Yerevan, turned himself in to police in the town of Artashat and was immediately arrested, according to a police report.
The man identified as Garegin B., born in 1963, was wanted by police since April 17 on charges of murder.
According to the police, the minibus passenger was stabbed to death on April 14 morning at the intersection of Leo and Paronyan streets.
When the passenger asked Garegin B. why he was in the minibus without face mask, the latter stabbed him in the chest. The passenger died before the arrival of ambulance.
The murdered man was a 39-year-old resident of Yerevan. The identity of the suspect was found out later who appeared to a 57-year-old resident of Artashat.
A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court ruling that has entered into legal force, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia. -0-
