YEREVAN, July 5. /ARKA/. Thirteen cases of measles were reported in Armenia over the past week, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said on Thursday.
"There are still measles outbreaks in the country, though on a small scale. Vaccination efforts are moving forward quite quickly. Now we are vaccinating health workers because they are the first target and, unfortunately, carriers of this type of disease," she said
The Ministry of Health is convinced that owing to vaccination, the cases of infections should come to zero in 1-2 months.
From March 3 to date, 209 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles have been registered in Armenia. -0-
