Three cases of swine flu reported in Nagorno-Karabakh

Three cases of swine flu were reported by the health authorities in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). The local health ministry said in a statement  that three samples of the virus, sent to the virology laboratory of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in Armenia, confirmed they were H1N1 virus subtype.

STEPANAKERT, January 12. /ARKA/. Three cases of swine flu were reported by the health authorities in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). The local health ministry said in a statement  that three samples of the virus, sent to the virology laboratory of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in Armenia, confirmed they were H1N1 virus subtype.

A monitoring of the epidemiological situation in Nagorno-Karabakh conducted by its health ministry in November and December 2015 recorded a decline in the number of acute respiratory diseases.

The ministry said 332 people, including 275 children under 18, have asked for assistance at local clinics and 54 patients have been hospitalized, including 32 patients under 18. Twenty-one hospitalized patients were diagnosed with pneumonia.

NKR health minister ordered daily monitoring of the situations with the focus on pre-school and secondary school institutions.-0-
