Traffic accidents dropped in Armenia in 2022, while drug trafficking upped

YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. The number of road accidents reported to Police in Armenia in 2022 dropped to 4,308 from the previous year, the Police said in a report on its performance in 2022

Some 321 people were killed in these accidents and another 6,153 were injured. Compared to 2021, the number of accidents was down by 296, the number of deaths by 47 and those injured by 546.

According to the report, the number of road accidents decreased for the first time in recent years.

Also, according to the Police report, drug trafficking in Armenia surged last year by 77% as opposed to 2021.

Last year a specialized unit to combat drug trafficking via the internet was established in the country. -0-

Over 6,200 real estate purchase and sale transactions completed in Armenia in October

In October 2025, some 6,206 real estate purchase and sale transactions were completed in Armenia's real estate market, compared to 5,333 transactions in October 2024 and 5,587 in September 2025, according to the Statistical Committee.
