Two passport office employees accused of bribe taking

Armenian law-enforcement authorities have arrested an employee of a Police office in Yerevan in charge of issuing passports and ID cards and have placed a second one under home arrest.
YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. Armenian law-enforcement authorities have arrested an employee of a Police office in Yerevan in charge of issuing passports and ID cards and have placed a second one under home arrest. Both are accused of demanding bribes in return for issuing ID cards.
The National Security Service (NSS) said the employees work for the Marash passport and visa office. On February 6, they demanded a bribe from a citizen.
On February 10, a figurehead handed over a bribe marked with chemicals. After that, the NSS detained the employees and seized the bribe. -0-
