Wounded Karabakh citizens to get 500,000 dram assistance

YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. Citizens registered in Nagorno-Karabakh who got wounded in last autumn war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, who had received outpatient treatment, will receive a one-time assistance of 500 thousand drams.

The decision was made by Nagorno-Karabakh president Arayik Harutyunyan. According to the presidential press service, assistance will be provided to those citizens from this category who did not take advantage of the government's earlier support program of 500 thousand drams.

Persons who have received outpatient medical care and services are also those persons who were wounded (traumatized) during hostilities, who, for various reasons, did not seek medical help or sought it but did not receive it for various reasons.

To receive financial assistance, the beneficiaries from July 5 can contact a specialized commission or call the hotline 30-03.

After that, the documents and evidence submitted by the beneficiaries will be considered within 15 days, and a final decision will be made.

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijani armed forces, backed by Turkey and foreign mercenaries and terrorists, attacked Nagorno-Karabakh along the entire front line using rocket and artillery weapons, heavy armored vehicles, military aircraft and prohibited types of weapons such as cluster bombs and  phosphorus weapons.

After 44 days of the war, on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement on the cessation of all hostilities. According to the document, the town of Shushi, the districts of Agdam, Kelbajar and Lachin were handed over to Azerbaijan, with the exception of a 5-kilometer corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.

A Russian peacekeeping contingent was deployed along the contact line in Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor. -0-
