Yerevan approves fare discounts on public transport
YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Council of Elders approved a package of fare discounts for public transport at a meeting on Tuesday.
34 people voted in favor, 0 voted against, and 23 abstained.
On benefits for travel on public transport
In particular, the project provides for benefits – children under 7 years old (free travel on public transport), schoolchildren from 8 to 18 years old (20% discount), orphaned schoolchildren aged 8 to 18 (free), pensioners over 63 years old (30% discount), students studying in the city of Yerevan, regardless of the place of registration (15% discount), students who have lost one parent or orphaned students (free), persons with disabilities of the 1st and 2nd degrees (free), pupils of orphanages and residents of nursing homes, persons receiving benefits and assistance from the state (20% discount), heroes of the former USSR, Socialist Labor Heroes, national heroes of Armenia, holders of the Order of Glory (free), parents from large families with 4 or more children (free).
About unified ticket system
Now in Yerevan, one trip in bus and metro costs 100 drams, in trolleybus - 50 drams.
According to the city hall’s project, from January 1, 2025, travel tickets will cost
- daily package - 880 (900) drams
- weekly package - 4,800 (5,000) drams
- monthly package - 8,800 (9,000) drams
- 90-day package - 23 600 (24 000) drams
- annual package (365 days) - 88 800 (90 000) drams
When purchasing any tariff package, citizens will be able to use all types of public transport - buses, metro, trolleybuses. ($1 - 388.89 drams). -0-
