YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Yerevan Vice Mayor Suren Grigoryan sees no reason to consider that the unified ticket system will not be ready by January 1, 2025.

"I don't see any reason for this. In case of a potential program failure, measures should be taken to ensure that citizens are not affected," Grigoryan said on Tuesday at a meeting of the Council of Elders, where the provision of transport benefits to certain groups of citizens was discussed.

According to the vice-mayor, citizens will have access to the most convenient fare options, including discounts for several categories—specifically, the monthly, quarterly, and annual ticket packages, as well as a 10-trip package.

“In particular, the project provides benefits for children under 7 years old (free public transport), schoolchildren aged 8 to 18 (20% discount), orphaned schoolchildren aged 8 to 18 (free), pensioners over 63 years old (30% discount), students studying in Yerevan, regardless of their place of residence (15% discount), students who have lost one parent or orphaned students (free), persons with disabilities of 1st and 2nd degree (free), children from orphanages and residents of nursing homes, individuals receiving state benefits or assistance (20% discount), heroes of the former USSR, Socialist Labor heroes, national heroes of Armenia, and holders of the Order of Glory (free), as well as parents in large families with four or more children (free),” Grigoryan noted.

Commenting on the question of benefits for displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, Grigoryan avoided giving a direct answer, merely noting that the state has implemented, and continues to implement, numerous assistance programs for them.
