Yerevan's trolleybus fleet is set to be completely modernized – mayor

YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. Tigran Avinyan, the Mayor of Yerevan, has assured that the city's transport fleet will soon be entirely outfitted with new trolleybuses.
During a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government resolved to allocate 2 billion 137 million drams to the municipality of the capital for the acquisition of 45 Yutong (China) trolleybuses; this sum will be provided as an advance payment.
Avinyan remarked at the government meeting that the procurement tender for this batch has already been conducted. "In the past, 30 new trolleybuses were acquired, and with the addition of the new 45 trolleybuses that we will obtain with the government's support, Yerevan's entire trolleybus fleet will be fully modernized," he declared.
He anticipates that all 45 trolleybuses will arrive in Yerevan and be operational by the first quarter of 2026. "Thus, from this point forward, the city will no longer possess any outdated trolleybuses," Avinyan stressed.-0-
