Yerevan Council of Elders approved the new general plan of the Armenian capital at a meeting on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, 10 September. /ARKA/. Yerevan Council of Elders approved the new general (master) plan of the Armenian capital at a meeting on Tuesday.

Thirty-two members of the Council voted in favour of the general plan, 13 voted against it, 2 more abstained.

In parallel with the development of the general plan, which lasted 8 months, digitisation of the city plan was carried out,’ Director of Yerevan Project CJSC Andranik Sedoyan said.

According to him, the transport network of Yerevan was developed on the basis of the previous general plan.

Sedoyan assured that the digitisation of the general plan will not stop at this stage and all the set tasks will be fulfilled properly.

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, in his turn, emphasised that only Yerevan has implemented a geo-information system (GIS) so far. He promised that full digitisation of the city's services and infrastructure will be implemented in the future.

Yerevan's new general plan is a digitised document, which is intended to ensure commensurate and consistent development of the capital. -0-

Deadline for legalizing unauthorized constructions in Armenia extended until the end of 2026
