Yerevan mayor appoints new prefect to Center District

Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan has appointed Avet Poghosyan as new prefect of the city's Kentron (Center) District, Hakob Karapetyan, the city municipality spokesman, reported Monday on his Facebook page.

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan has appointed Avet Poghosyan as new prefect of the city's Kentron (Center) District, Hakob Karapetyan, the city municipality spokesman, reported Monday on his Facebook page.
Before this appointment Poghosyan worked as advisor to the secretary of the Armenian Security Council. According to the municipality spokesman's post in Facebook, the new prefect is nonpartisan.
This position became vacant on October 24 after the then prefect Victor Mnatsakanyan's resignation. He explained his resignation by his intention" to go deep into the city's problems". -0---
